PSYCHONEUROIMMUNOLOGY (PNI )
Psychoneuroimmunoendocrinology is an integrative medical discipline that studies the relationship between the nervous, hormonal, and immune systems and human behavior. The aim is to understand the mechanism by which we maintain or lose the balance of our health. In short, PNI therapy shows that emotions affect physical and biochemical responses and that the reverse also works. Therefore, laughing increases the secretion of endorphins and T lymphocytes and being angry increases stress, anxiety and depression.
Currently, the PNI is focusing on health intestinal bacteria and brain. It is sure that the microbiota is involved in the neuroimmunoendocrin system and our behavior, using the immune system as the main way of communication.
